Wow. Has it really only been a week since we last spoke? 😱
I can’t believe it’s December! Should I be wishing you all a Merry Crimbo already? Not quite, but at this rate, it will be Christmas Day quicker than Rich could finish off a tonne of pick ‘n mix… there is a reason that boy is not allowed sweets…!
Jokes aside, once again we’ve been non-stop at The Avenue! We kick started this week with yet another successful Kids After School Class. Hungry mouths and growling bellies were rewarded with the glorious taste of Pad Thai. Mmmmm… The oriental-inspired evening went down an absolute treat. What a great After School Class finale for 2017! It’s been emotional guys… So, if you’d like to book onto next years After School Classes we’ll be tempting you with a range of delicious dishes including homemade Turkey Burgers, Lasagne, Banoffee Pie and Mediterranean Chicken. So, Mum, Dad, Granny, Grandpa and Gloria the over-fed goldfish, it’s time to get home, kick your feet up (or fins?) buy a XMas voucher and let the kids do the cooking. Yeah, you heard right. Kids. Doing the cooking. We make things happen here!!!!!
Tuesday meant one thing and one thing only. Road trip! Waahheyyyyyyy 😀
The team took their hungry bums off to the city! Of course… always hungry. Kitchen Hire at the Wandsworth base meant we could venture off to the big smoke where we were surrounded by numerous lunch venues. This week’s office treats were free sweets! Not that the Avenue Team aren’t used to the delights of being spoilt with gorgeous gourmet food every day, but a new location was ever so exciting!
After a lovely day of numberable cups of coffee and endless parma violets, the team hit the streets of London and headed home on a rather chilly November evening! Brrr.. all this city talk reminds me! It’s not long ’till our exclusive Pasta In The City Class! We are bouncing off the walls waiting for this one. Pasta Walls. Bouncy, pillowy pasta walls. 🍝BRING ON DECEMBER 14th!🍝
Wednesday already? Jeeze I can’t keep track.
This meant a mid-week private cookery class with our very special student Zoe! Diana and Zoe cooked their way through the day delightfully… the sweet smell of Spiced Butternut Squash Soup and Caramelized Oranges filled the office. Alongside the tremendously loud and rather distracting sounds of tummies rumbling! It feels like years ago the team jetted off to the Big Apple to support Zoe in the New York Marathon. Who remembers this iconic pic of the gorgeous Rich strolling across Brooklyn Bridge? Oh and now you’re on the ‘gram, give us a follow! We’ll be posting an array of mouthwatering festive foodie pics this December. Believe me when we say, you wouldn’t wanna miss them!
Thursday! It’s The Avenue Christmas Party day y’allllll! Thursday meant food ‘n booze. The two things we pride ourselves on. It is safe to say that The Avenue know how to party! We kick-started the night with our much loved mulled wine. With such a great response at the Re-Launch Pardy, we couldn’t wait to get our cold hands on those warm winter tumblers!
Diana made a wonderful appearance at JAGs Sixthform Gap and Leavers Fair! Can you believe that when we waved her off from the office, it was actually snowing! At least we stayed toasty in our Christmas jumpers!
With Sophie taking over the kitchen while the chefs were out about, she surrounded us with a glorious feast of canapés galore, nut roast and good ol’ sausages and mash with onion and sage stuffing, shredded cabbage and of course a rich onion gravy. Finishing off with homemade Baklava this Christmas party wasn’t a traditional Christmas Roast – we like to be different! Adding treats through the night of secret Santa and secret missions… secret missins you ask? Well, each team member was assigned a ‘secret’ task to complete by the end of the night. It was interesting, to say the least. Warm cosy vibes filled the Avenue, in the comfort of our gorgeously lit kitchen. It really is our favourite time of year. Hugs and lots of luv all around! Lots of wine too.
Finally, Friday came too quickly. We walked our sore heads and full tums back to base and settled down for a chilled one. What started out as a chilled day, quickly became a rather exciting one to say the least. It’s December 1st and our first festive class of the season – Vegan Cookery Class, Christmas Edition with Mushroom Bruschetta and Nut Roast with allllllll the trimmings! Anyone else dribbling? What a way to kick-start the weekend. Not to mention the Mince Pies! A lovely evening full to the brim with festive cheer, tunes and fun. What more could you ask for on Friday the 1st of December? The weekend has only just begun…
