Product Description

All students who attend the Intermediate Cookery Course will have had a basic ground knowledge either from The Avenue’s Really Useful Course or from experience gained elsewhere. If you are unsure whether you qualify please get in touch.

On the first day of the Intermediate Cookery Course you will have a thorough recap on knife skills and other important tips and skills that will be a help for you and your future in cooking. Each day on this course you will cook new inspired recipes that will increase your cooking repertoire and take your confidence in the kitchen to the next level.

At The Avenue we teach students to have the confidence and understanding in food to enable you to work without a cookbook, but rather to use them for new ideas.  We are very flexible at The Avenue so any gaps in knowledge can be easily filled.

For those wanting to complete this week for working in a chalet please select the date with ‘(Chalet Host)’ next to it. If completing the Chalet Host course you will cover hosting skills, menu planning and how to clean properly and change beds.  You will receive an Avenue Chalet Host Bible, which is full of great tips and tricks for hosting, the means to complete your Food Safety Level 2 and we will also assist you in perfecting your CV and finding a job for your season with one of our many Ski Company affiliates.

Worried about attending Courses later in the Summer? – If you book early in the year for a class in October say, you won’t be jeopardising your chances of getting a job in fact you could be attending interviews before you even come to The Avenue. Companies will still accept your application and can place you in a role on condition that you complete The Avenue Chalet Host Course.

If you happen to book the course later in the summer don’t panic, as companies can be recruiting right up until the start of the season and there is always a job somewhere! You will need to work hard and be proactive but we will try our hardest to help you find a job!

N.B. To work for the big ski companies you will require an English NI number however there are other ski companies out there that you can apply to but if you have any questions with regards to this please get in touch.
