The Avenue’s Off to Uni Cookery Course specialises in teaching the foundations of cooking to university students who are leaving home and need to learn this invaluable life skill.
By the end of this 5 day intensive programme you will have progressed from little to no knowledge of cooking to a confident cook.
The Off to Uni Cookery Course has been designed to guide the inexperienced through a week of well planned, traditional recipes and techniques. We offer “hands-on” courses offering plenty of help and support but at the same time explaining that there is no better route to success than practice.
Every Thursday there is the, now famous, dinner party for students and their friends. This popular dinner is organised, cooked and hosted by the students. It is a fantastic introduction to hosting and cooking for numbers.
Emphasis is also made on affordable eating which is essential for those who will be budgeting at university, and will provide a wonderful start to an independent and healthy lifestyle.
Accommodation will be in local family run B&B’s in male or female shared rooms or private rooms (numbers depending)
This course is great as a gift from family and friends who want their loved ones to learn some nutritious and delicious recipes and techniques before they leave the roost.
