Heya February! 👋🏻
We’ve been looking forward to February for some time now so we are over the moon with its arrival! 😎 WHOOP! As you know, we have a lovely selection of Valentine’s Classes lined up for you lot this month so don’t forget to check them out! From our scrumptious Vegan Valentine’s to our cute Couples Canape Making Class we’ve got all of you covered! As always… off track once again, so let’s commence with this week’s Avenue Shenanigans 😆
As we sadly said our goodbyes to Sophie and Shanga, who were off on their glorious belated honeymoon in Italy, we waved hello to Monday. Not the most exciting of ‘hellos’ we’ll give you that, but we had some wonderful classes lined up, so we weren’t feeling too jealous. Who doesn’t love British weather on a Monday morning right?! 😍 Oh, not to mention Rich and Diana had also jetted off to set foot on the icy slopes of Meribel once again. Avenue adventures hey… we should seriously think about a world tour. 😲Anyway, Monday was a quiet day in the Kitchen. We didn’t have any classes running so we spent the day looking out the window and crying… Only kidding, we spent the day finalising some exciting WeWork demos! The first one is this month and we’ll be teaching the lovely peeps at WeWork Bishopsgate how to become a Sushi Master. ☺️
On Tuesday we had the lovely Umbrella Training in again! They must love us…who doesn’t? 😘 With them busy in the kitchen we spent the day mainly in awe watching our brand new Avenue Kitchen Video. If you’d like to take a small step into an evening with the Avenue, watch below! It’s amazing to see our gorgeous kitchen in its full glory. Thanks to the Horsford men for building it not sure we office lot could have..
Huge thanks to Ollie Slatter for pulling this one out the bag – what a talent and just 17! Check out his website here.
Did someone say Pizza? That’s right, on Tuesday we introduced our new Pizza Workshop to the kitchen – what a great Italian inspired evening. Our eager guests arrived by 7pm and were ready and waiting for their pizza demo. We had flour and cheese flying all around the shop but the pizzas tasted bloomin’ amazing! After recent weather conditions, home-made pizza and glass of vino was the perfect way to end a gloomy Tuesday. If you fancy giving your pizza-making skills a whizz, book on to our next class in April. We are getting bigger and better baby! 😅
Easing our way into Wednesday we had our lovely Easy Entertaining Class! One of our favourites… and we seriously couldn’t fault the menu. Are you ready? To start, Ceviche with Tigers Milk, followed by Bavette Steak, Paprika and Chipotle Potatoes with Chimichurri Sauce, and to finish, gorgeous little Lime Possets with Pisco Granita. nom nom nom…
The boozy evening lead by Ben Blackburn was definitely one to remember. What a great way to say goodbye to January! We love hearing your feedback folks so if you get a minute, head over to our Facebook or TripAdvisor page where you can leave your own review…
Pinch punch it’s the first of the month! That’s right people, we had finally hit February and boy were we celebrating in style. Simple Suppers Style, to be precise. The warm smell of Diana’s homemade bread filled the Avenue moments before guests arrived. Perfect timing… Dips anyone? The kitchen was full to the brim and by 7 pm and the class commenced! Our Simple Suppers class is designed to help all busy-bodies, shout-out all you parents, who don’t have the time to spend all evening slaving away in the kitchen. It’s teaching you the tips and tricks to help create quick, easy and delicious meals! To join the tasty smell of Diana’s bread, Roasted Lemon Chicken and Rustic Potatoes also filled the air. If ya mouth is watering already you are about to endure some severe hunger pains…
White Chocolate Cheesecake delicately showered with Pomegranate Seeds and Pistachios. I’ll leave that to you…Over in Old Street Rich was holding it down at our Sushi Workshop in The City. Another crazy evening full of maki-rolls, clinking glasses and VERY big grins 😄 It felt like we’d be waiting for our Sushi in The City Class for years, so shout out to everyone that joined us, we love ya!
So here we are again. Friday. Best day of the week if you ask us…or anyone I guess. Its the calm before the storm…tonight is our Mediterranean Meze Class! Drum roll please… we’ll be celebrating Friday in style. Cooking up everything from Lamb Koftas, Tabbouleh, Chicken Souvlaki to homemade Pita and our famous humous! Here’s a snap of whats to come…
This weekend we’ve got our regular Kids Weekend Cooking Class with Jason holding down the fort, and if you haven’t heard enough about Diana’s AMAZING bread yet, we’ve got our infamous Bread Class on Sunday – we’ll keep you in the loop on how they get on in next weeks Shenanigans!
