It’s been another great week here at the Avenue, full of some delicious cookery classes, including some old favourites and some brand new!

On Sunday we hosted The Food Sauce’s pancake day event. It was great to meet so many lovely food bloggers, and try so many delicious independent food brands. Chef Richard had us all roll and shape our own homemade pasta from scratch, which, topped with Cirio tomato passata went down a treat. This was followed by a pancake flipping masterclass, with a ridiculous number of topping options! Keep an eye out for The Food Sauce’s Youtube channel for the full video of the day!

On Monday, Richard taught his lovely After School Class. The group learnt how to mix and pulse delicious soups, with cheese scones to top! Yum!

Tuesday was of course, Pancake Day. We threw it back this year to this amazing Butternut Squash Savoury Pancake Recipe, which is the perfect alternative to sweet pancakes, and great for readying up for Lent.

Wednesday saw the first of our Indian Workshop Supper Clubs. Students whipped up a delicious butter chicken with spicy rice, along with an amazing homemade naan bread, and from all accounts it was ultra-delicious!

On Thursday, we hosted our second ever Vegan Cookery Class. On the menu was Aubergine and Sundried Tomato Pate with Melba Toast to start, followed by Sweet Potato & White Bean Chilli with Guacamole and then Peanut and Chia Seed Pudding with Spiced Apples for dessert! Everyone loved learning so many varied, healthy and most importantly, delicious vegan recipes! We can’t wait for our next Vegan Cookery Class on April 11th. Spaces are selling like hotcakes so book your space soon!

Next week promises to be as busy as ever, with kitchen hire at the start of week, and some more brand new classes at the end in the form of our Knife Skills Class, and Gluten Free Workshop. It’s not too late to book on for next week!
