This week saw the return of our week-long extended course, as we welcomed a new bunch of chef-to-bes into our kitchen for the week. It was so lovely to have the kitchen alive with activity, and the food that our student’s made was pretty special too!
On Tuesday we turned up the heat for our Valentine’s Dinner Party Dining Class. And we decked out the kitchen with roses for the occasion. Canoodling couples and singles alike whipped up a sumptuous menu of sexy scallops to start, sea bass on a (bouncing!) bed of ratatouille, and rich oozing chocolate pots for dessert. Congratulations again to our lucky competition winner Lorraine Robinson, who snatched two tickets for the class, and by all accounts Lorraine had a delightful time with us! Spaces for the next Dinner Party Dining Class are booking up quick, so hurry to book your space now!
On Thursday our students, who at this point were well equipped with their newfound cookery skills, welcomed their friends and family to the school. With great food and wine flowing, the students got to show of all that they have learned throughout their time at The Avenue!
Friday saw the last day of the extended course. After our prize giving ceremony, the students departed laden with food and Avenue goodies. Some are soon off to uni, others completing the award for their DofE Gold Residential Course, and some just to brush up on their home cookery. They were a really talented bunch and we will miss them all!
Looking forward to getting back into our regular extended courses in summer. Check out our full list of course dates here.
