Things have been getting festive this week at The Avenue for the Easter Holidays, and our Young Holiday Class has made the kitchen a hive of activity!

On Monday, we invited the amazing Hari Ghotra into the kitchen to teach a demo. She whipped us the most amazing vegetable samosas we have ever tried with a delicious mint and green chilli dipping sauce. We are looking forward to working more with Hari and getting her in and teaching her amazing Indian street food recipes very soon! Watch this space!

On Tuesday, we invited the lovely Zoe North for the first of a series of private classes with Diana. Having completed marathons, and done multiple charity events, Zoe has chosen to spend her gap year exploring her love of food with cookery classes at The Avenue. It’s so lovely to spend some one-on-one time teaching Zoe, and we’re looking forward to her improving in cookery and confidence with her time with us.

Things got spicy in the kitchen on Wednesday at the first of out Young Holiday Classes. We put the kiddies to work, and had them make a Mexican feast! Quesadillas, Chicken Burritos and delicious Churros with a Chocolate Dipping Sauce was on the menu. The kids left with very full bellies, as well as some homemade jalapeno and cheddar rolls to show off to their families!

Thursday was equally as exciting, and saw the little ones cook-up a delicious Chicken Curry with Spiced Rice, a Cauliflower Dahl and a Cardamon Yoghurt Pots with Pomegranate Molasses for pudding. They took home with them homemade samosas – which made for very happy parents!

And we aren’t planning on slowing down for the weekend! On Saturday, Richard is heading into Covent Garden to teach a private Dim Sum Class. Sunday brings with it our infamous Badman Bread Class. Richard will be teaching delicious Focaccia, Pitta Bread, White Poppyseed Inside Out Rolls, Soda Bread and perhaps the best of all, our own family recipe ‘Diana’s Bread’.

Next week promises to be just as good, as we are continuing with our Easter Young Holiday Classes for the holidays. We are also hosting our Vegan Class on Tuesday and Knife Skills Class on Wednesday; stay tuned to hear all the shenanigans of what we get up to!
