Welcome back to The Avenue’s Weekly Shenanigans!

It’s been quite a quiet week at The Avenue, calm before the storm with our fully booked course next week. We still have some bits to share with you though;

Rose and Jessie completed week two of the Chalet Host Cooking Course and have left full to the brim of cooking knowledge after a week of private cookery lessons with Diana – lucky them! They’ve made some amazing food like a delicious Lamb Tagine with Chickpea Salad, homemade Pita Bread and Humous (we literally can’t eat another thing!). We can’t not mention the naughty desserts we have been treating ourselves to: Raspberry and White Chocolate Parfait, Passion Fruit Jelly and a rather boozy Grapefruit, Gin and Tonic Sorbet – irresistible!

On Monday we saw amateurs advance to Masters of the Macaron. They experimented with different flavours like Malteaser, Peanut Butter and Chocolate & Lemon. We must give a big congrats to our class winners Rebecca and Angela who won the Competition for the best Macarons, marked on Skill, Taste, and Presentation – well done girls!

Amongst everything going on this week we welcomed Zoe back into the kitchen where she whipped up a scrumptious Chicken Curry and some Doughnuts. Zoe has been coming to us for private lessons for the last few months, and she told us that she cooked a meal for her Grandma last week. She made a delicious Steak with homemade Béarnaise sauce. Zoe said her Grandma was so impressed with how confident she has become in the kitchen, which we were so happy to hear. Well done Zoe!

For this weeks recipe we have posted a quick and easy recipe that’s perfect for a night in, or dinner in a dash. Find the Salmon En Papilotte Recipe on our blog now. You can be really creative with the flavours you use and you can even prep it in advance to put in the freezer for another day. If you’ve already had a go at making it yourself, we’d love to see your photos. Tag us on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and show us your creation.

Next Monday we have a group of 20 students coming in to do their 2 week Chalet Host Cooking Course or Basic to Brilliant Course as well as those doing their 1 week Really Useful Course, Off to Uni and Duke of Edinburgh Courses.

For a limited time only, we are offering £100 off our Intermediate Cookery Courses, for those of you who know the basics and want to learn some show stopping dishes to wow your friends and Dinner Party guests!

Stay tuned for more Avenue Shenanigans looking forward into August!
