Welcome back to the The Avenue’s Weekly Shenanigans! It’s been another action packed week here at the Cookery School. On Sunday, Richard taught a Private Sunday Roast Class, which went really well! He taught them how to cook delicious Roast Chicken with all the yummy trimmings; Home-Made Stuffing, the best Crispy Roast Potatoes you will ever set your eyes (or tongue) on, Seasonal Leeks & Carrots, Bread Sauce and of course lashings of Gravy! And if that wasn’t enough, they topped off the afternoon with Apple Crumble, Custard and no doubt a well-deserved nap on the sofa!

We have had another busy few days with our Really Useful, Basic to Brilliant and Chalet Host Cookery Courses running. We’ve had a fully booked course, so it’s been all go with an abundance of delicious food being produced by the students! We had our largest Dinner Party yet on Thursday evening – 60 guests attended to see what their family and friends had been learning to make throughout the week. The kitchen was buzzing and full of laughter all evening – which is what we thrive off at The Avenue!

Scott Dunn, Ski Weekends and Ski Beat all came in this week to meet our Chalet Host Cooks. The companies got to tell the students a bit more about how all their companies work and the students got to discuss what they were hoping to do in the upcoming ski season. We work with a selection of companies that all operate slightly differently, which is great because we can help students find a job they really want, whether that’s cooking or assisting a Professional Chef in the kitchen!

We also had a camera crew in filming Richard and some guests on Tuesday evening. He was teaching them how to cook a delicious Ballotine of Chicken stuffed with Mushrooms and Baby Leek, with a Champagne Vinegar Dressing and Seasonal Vegetables. We’ll keep you updated on when and where you can watch Richard in action nearer the time!

This weekend we had another of our famous Sunday Brunch Club Classes, with bottomless Bloody Mary’s galore. Richard showed everyone how to whip up the perfect Eggs Benedict and home-made Soda Bread! Then in the afternoon we are rounded off another fantastic week with our Ready Steady Bake Class! The students left with bellies full of cake and some more for the journey home, including Red Velvet cupcakes, Carrot Cake and of course the infamous Avenue Chocolate Brownies! Detox starts Monday…
