Guess who’s back…back again…?! We are! Aaaand it’s FRIDAY Y’ALLLLL.
What.A.Week!
Now that the January blues are beginning to clear, the evenings are becoming a tiny bit lighter (emphasis on tiny) and that extra Christmas plumpness is starting to disappear – we can finally see the light baby!
It’s been a tremendous start to 2018 already and we’ve really thrown ourselves into the deep end. For the next few months, it’s all teams go go go. With heaps of new classes added to the calendar, we’ve really got our work cut out! Though, it’s worth it for all our little Avenue fans. 😉 Shall we get on with this week’s antics then?
Oh, Monday… how we love you! On Monday we had the lovely videographer Ollie in, currently studying at Brit school, to scope out the kitchen and take some snazzy shots! 😋 Rich was more than happy to show him around, proudly showing off our gleaming equipment. Not to mention his precious knifes, the demo islands and our beautiful Avenue decor…
Some new footage is on the horizon guys, so keep your eyes peeled. The day flew past and the team enjoyed another wonderfully home-cooked lunch courtesy of Sophie, mmm we are treated well. The day came to an end and we headed home so Rich could take over the kitchen for the evenings After School Kids Club – it was turkey burger time. A lovely little Monday tummy-warmer. Burgers devoured it was time to head home. Mondays. Gotta love ’em.
Tantalizing Tuesday came around and it was time for the chefs to prep for the evenings fully booked Knife Skills Class. While the chef were prepping Sophie and Emily met with the lovely Zerrin from Red Letter Days and gossiped about only important things – obviously. Like we said, this year is about big things people, big things! Don’t you worry, we’ll make sure we keep ya in the know. Meetings over and a few thousand emails finally sorted it was time for our first Knife Skills Class of the year! The boozy evening went down an absolute treat and the new and improved knife connoisseurs walked outta that kitchen with smiles on their faces.
We made it. Mid-week and we’re still feelin’ good. Wednesday was a special day at The Avenue. We were throwing Diana’s sister, Jen, the biggest and best bday bash you’ve ever seen. By 11 am we were already unloading lots of wine and other booze deliveries…champagne of course darling! The day whizzed by and it was time to party. Most of the family (only 26 of them!!!!) had come together to surprise Jen with an evening of bliss. Everyone gathered around their demo islands and cooked some extra saucy Ravioli. Pasta – it’s always a winner. This was followed by more wine and Sticky Toffee Pud. Talking of Sticky Toffee Pudding, did you see our recipe post this week? Seriously who can resist a pudding smothered in hot and sticky toffee sauce…we can’t. 😋 What a lovely evening, happy birthday Jen!
We had kitchen hire Thursday so it was a pretty quiet day at the office as we all worked from home, though the evening meant another Janauray Detox Class! Chilly Wandsworth definitely needed some warming up and in perfect timing, the beautifully lit kitchen started to fill with hungry mouths. Thursday’s menu was one of our favourites – Avacado Choccy pots 😍 and for main, Luxurious Leek and Mushroom Chicken Ballotine. Corrrrr. Another successful January Detox class in the bag. We’re delighted with the response we’ve had to our Jan classes already – both fully booked and just 5 spaces on the last one on the 25th Jan!
We love getting feedback AND of course glowing reviews so don’t forget to check out our TripAdvisor page where yourself and fellow students can share and discuss what you specifically love about our classes…15% off your next class for each review left!
Now we are up-to-date, let’s talk about today! We loooove a Friday – it just means we are closer to Monday 😂.
As you know it was Sophie’s birthday not long ago and hubby, Shanga, has really pulled it out the bag with this one. He’s whisking her off to The Fat Duck this evening where she’ll be devouring 16 courses. Yep, you read that right! 16. Courses. Her January tummy may be around for that bit longer 😜! If you have time, check out their website meal itinerary where you can see what kinda things they’ll be up to, where childhood memories come to life…
It’s been a crazy quick week and this weekend is all about chilling out. 😴 Quiet weekends call for Clarence Court Eggs. Perhaps an eggs benny in bed? We love you, Clarence!
Oh, and don’t forget about our January Sale peeps! It won’t be around forever (hence the name) but we don’t want anyone missing out now. Head over to our sales page and check out what’s in store – for less! Talking about brunch… we had the lovely Georgie Pursey in for our boozy blogger’s brunch last year and she loved us THAT much she came back again!!!! Check out how she got on at our Pasta Class in The City here!
