Anyho ho ho, on Monday we had the beautiful Zoe in for her regular class with Diana. The two of them once again filled the kitchen the sweet aroma of Apple Crumble. Our favourite! Working at a cookery school, especially around Christmas time really has its benefits. Warm and cosy vibes spread right through The Avenue and into the office (amongst a heap of mince pies) to help us get through the sub-zero weather! They finished off the evening by cookin’ up a gorgeous lamb lasagne for both Zoe and her family to devour later on. YUM.

Tuesday was yet again bitterly cold in England but not in our kitchen! Zoe and Diana shared another day crammed with festive bakes. Tuesday also marked the first day of our Christmas countdown on our Facebook, Insta and Twitter! We’ve been busy santa helpers in the office creating some fab festive prizes for you all to receive over the next few days in the lead up to Christmas.

Wednesday was a very very special day. SOPHIE’S 30TH BIRTHDAY Y’ALL! While Sophie was out enjoying her birthday brunch (and ever so slightly over-indulging to the max) the kitchen was quiet.  Nevertheless, we introduced the lovely Gladys to the team! Gladys will be staying with us until February time and with all these Christmas sales and our jam-packed calendar for the new year, it’s lovely to have another Avenue team member. All in all, it was a quiet (and frosty) Wednesday and the perfect time for us to share one of our favourite festive recipes. MINCE PIES! If you haven’t yet managed to check it out, you should! We’ve been little piggies at the office and been munching on them all week.

Thursday came around quickly and the team (including a recovering Rich) met at The Avenue base in Wandsworth to collect all of the day’s ingredients. That meant absolutely everything for the Sushi Demo Workshop at WeWork and our first Pasta in The City Class! We’ve waited absolutely months for this one and WOW was it worth the wait. 😍 But, before we get into that, let’s talk about Rich’s Sushi demo!
If you know Rich, you’ll know he’s an incredible Sushi Chef, he’s becoming quite renowned for it! When we arrived at WeWork’s offices in Aldgate it was all go go go! We all mucked in and although the weather was still pretty nippy, after racing around to get everything prepped we most definitely weren’t feeling the cold! Avo and cucumber Maki rolls were on the menu, mmmm!😇 The demo was an absolute success. Everyone got stuck in and Rich put on a lovely show despite being still fragile from his tonsillectomy.

We couldn’t hang around chatting for long though as we had our infamous Pasta Class to prepare for but this time in The City!!! So we quickly packed up our things (went for a quick bite to eat) and headed off to our City location just off Old Street and began to prep.

We arrived in Old Street and began to set things up. Ravioli and Beurre Noisette heaven. The night kicked with a bang (or rather some classic Christmas toooons)! We opened our doors to a full class including the lovely blogger Georgie Pursey to create some award-winning pasta and review the class. Make sure you keep an eye on her gorgeous blog and social media this week where you can hear what she has to say about the class and our new location. Rich and Diana put on an amazing demo and then everyone, drink in hand, got started with their own ravioli. The festive family vibe that flooded through the kitchen (alongside PLENTY of vino) was really one to remember. Go team!!!!! What a success. The pasta, company and all-round happy faces created a show-stopping evening. Thanks so much to everyone that came along, we love you guys!

So, here we are again, Friday! Rich is off for 2 days of skiing with his lovely girlfriend. He’s still recovering but has decided to do this on the slopes… in -10000 weather conditions. Of course, he has the nutter!
While he’s jetting off we are still reminiscing about last nights class. It was dreamy. Is it lunchtime yet? Pasta anyone? After a knackering week, we are ready for BED but instead we are all going out to enjoy some good Christmas grog!

Another reminder about our 12 Day Christmas Countdown, you really will be missing out otherwise! We’ve got a relatively quiet weekend this time around – due to all the festive prepping for next weeks Young Holiday Classes. It’s not long until our Christmas holidays and to be honest, we are actually going to miss being at The Avenue (who doesn’t!)!
