At The Avenue Cookery School, we’re pretty fussy about what goes into our kitchen and we make no apology for it. Every brand you’ll find on this page is one we’ve chosen because we genuinely love and trust them, not because we’ve been paid to say so.
These are the products our chefs reach for every single day, the ones our students ask about at the end of class and the ones we’d recommend to anyone who wants to cook brilliantly at home. From the Soy Sauce on our tables to the knives in our hands, every single one has earned its place in The Avenue kitchen.
We’re proud to work with brands that share our values, quality, passion and a genuine love of great food.
And we’re not here to gatekeep, so we wanted to share our recommendations with you so you can bring a little bit of The Avenue magic into your own kitchen at home.
We hope you love them as much as we do! 🍴
We’ve used Magimix products in our kitchen for as long as we’ve been cooking and they have never let us down. Reliable, brilliantly versatile and built to last — they’re the food processors, mini choppers and ice cream machines our chefs reach for every single day at The Avenue. If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen, Magimix is always where we’d point you.

IIf you’re going to invest in one great knife, make it a Katto. Beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced and honestly some of the most stunning knives we’ve ever had the pleasure of cooking with, they are the kind of knife that makes you actually want to get in the kitchen. We love them so much that we’ve teamed up with Katto to create an exclusive bundle – a spot on our Knife Skills Class paired with a gorgeous Katto Walnut Chef’s Knife, saving you £80 on the RRP. The perfect gift for any food lover.
Dexam
If you’ve ever eaten one of our Bao and wondered how we get them so perfect, here’s one of the trusty tools we use behind the scenes. Dexam steamers are used in our Bao Class every single week and our chefs absolutely swear by them. Steaming is one of the healthiest, most satisfying ways to cook and Dexam make it brilliantly simple.

We are huge advocates of Clarence Court eggs and have made it our personal mission to convert every single one of our students. Used across every class at The Avenue, one look at that deep golden yolk and you’ll understand why we’ll never go back to any old egg. Neither will you.
Come and cook where Clarence Court eggs are championed in our Brunch Class and see for yourself! 🍳
If someone asks us where to buy fish online, there is only one answer The Fish Society. No debate. Premium, sustainably sourced fish and seafood delivered straight to your door, and the quality is genuinely outstanding. We’ve collaborated with The Fish Society on a number of recipe videos together and every single time, the produce does all the talking.

Can you name a more iconic bottle? We can’t. We love Kikkoman so much that we’ve made them the official soy sauce partners of The Avenue Cookery School meaning their legendary naturally brewed soy sauce is used across every single one of our Asian classes, at every station, by every student, every night. Once you cook with the real thing, there’s no going back.
Come and cook with Kikkoman in our Japanese Class, Sushi Workshop, Korean Class, Chinese Class, Thai Class and Vietnamese Class and more…
There’s one thing the majority of students who walk through our doors gets to experience before the class even begins – Diana’s iconic freshly baked bread, served as a welcome at the start of many of our classes. And behind every loaf? Allinson’s flour. We’ve been using Allinson’s to make Diana’s legendary bread for years and it never fails to deliver a proper, reliable flour that produces the most beautiful results every time.
Want to learn to make it yourself? Come and join us for our Bread Workshop 🍞
Salt is the most important ingredient in your kitchen. And not all salt is created equally. Cornish Sea Salt is hand-harvested from the Cornish coastline and is prized by chefs for its distinctive texture and flavour. We’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Cornish Sea Salt on recipe videos together and every time, it’s a reminder of just how much the right seasoning elevates a dish.
Watch Rich use Cornish Sea Salt to make the most incredible Salted Caramel here and then do yourself a favour and make the switch. Your cooking will thank you for it 🧂
If you think you don’t like tofu, you haven’t tried Tofoo. We use Tofoo across our classes as our go-to vegan option and honestly, it converts even the biggest sceptics every single time. Firm, flavourful and incredibly versatile, it soaks up spices and sauces beautifully, making it the perfect addition to everything from a smoky Mexican feast to a fragrant Indian curry.
Come and try it for yourself in our Mexican Class or Indian Cooking Class 🌱
Good olive oil changes everything. And Citizens of Soil is very good olive oil. It’s exactly the kind of brand we love to champion and one every keen home cook should know about. They also offer a brilliant subscription service so you’ll never run out of the good stuff. Shop Citizens of Soil here 🫒
Ask any of our chefs what’s in their knife roll and Victorinox will always be in there. The go-to knife across the whole of The Avenue kitchen — used in every single class, every single night, by our chefs and our students alike. Perfectly balanced, razor sharp and incredibly reliable, they just make cooking better.
Come and use them in our Knife Skills Class and see why we swear by them or browse the range we sell in our shop here 🔪
When it comes to dairy, we don’t mess around. We love Graham’s The Family Dairy and once you taste the difference that genuinely great dairy makes to a dish, you’ll never go back to the standard stuff. A proper family business (like us!) based in the heart of Scotland, three generations in and still Scotland’s number one dairy brand. We love that kind of story.
Watch the special event we hosted together here and try cooking with Graham’s at home with our Chicken, Leek & Sage Pie recipe 🥛
