To celebrate #NationalGarlicDay we thought we better give you a killer recipe!

(Serves 2)


50g butter

1 onion, chopped

450ml chicken stock

100ml milk

½ kilo of floury  potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces

7 cloves garlic, peeled

freshly chopped fragile herbs to garnish (optional) chives, parsley or a drizzle of cream or creme frais.



In a pan cook the onion with the butter until golden.

Add the stock, potatoes, and garlic, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are very tender.

Process with a hand blender but be careful not to over-process.

Add the milk and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Simmer until heated through and serve sprinkled with herbs or a drizzle of cream or creme frais
