We’re introducing a new face to you here today, it’s the woman behind the marketing, Ella! We’re not just excited to have her join our team but also so soon to be celebrating her birthday and for you all to get to know her just a bit better…

So, as is our tradition, we’ve asked her a series of ten questions to find out about her past year and all her foodie habits.

What is your all-time favourite food?

Ooh, I always find this so hard to answer, there’s just too much good food out there to try! If I really had to narrow it down I might choose Thai… or Vietnamese… or, ah, I just can’t decide!

(We’re with you there Ella, it’s a tricky choice!)

Do you have a favourite restaurant in London?

Hmm, I recently went to a really good ramen place called Supa Ya Ramen 🍜 – it’s tiny so definitely worth booking – and they have a small menu but everything on it is incredible!

(Thanks for the tip, we’ll definitely be trying it out ☑️)

You haven’t taken a class at The Avenue yet, which one are you most excited to try?

With all the bottomless booze classes, this might be a surprising answer but I’d have to go with the Bread Class  🍞🥖🥯 – it’s just one of those things I’ve never got around to trying to make and would love to give it a go!

(definitely give it a go, we can vouch for the menu especially Diana’s famous bread recipe…)

What has been your highlight of 2022 so far?

I’d have to say graduating from University, the four years flew by, and then obviously joining The Avenue!!

If you could only eat sweet or savoury for the rest of your life which would you choose?

So I go through phases of having a sweet tooth and then a taste for savoury foods and I’m currently loving savoury so I think that’s what I’ve got to go with!

Are you a relaxing night in kind of birthday girl or will it be a party all night?

I’ve left all the planning to my friends this year who have very happily been deciding but I have been told that there might be a dinner party happening. It doesn’t sound too crazy but knowing my friends who knows where the night will take us!🍷

Where has been your favourite place to travel to this year?

After several years of not being able to go anywhere I was so lucky to manage to travel the whole of this last summer and I’d have to say Bali or Malaysia! I definitely tested out my spice tolerance (which I learnt is not too bad!) and had some amazing experiences like hiking a volcano!

(Maybe you can introduce us to any interesting dishes you tried on your travels 🌶)

Do you have any advice that might help us all out in the kitchen?

Welllll I’m no expert but I’d say definitely get your basics down first and then experiment from there! For anything else you’re definitely going to have to ask the real chefs at The Avenue. 🍳

What is your favourite food combination?

I know I said I was more into savoury food but the best combo is definitely peanut m&ms with salty popcorn! They just go so well together. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!

And finally, would you rather have chopsticks for arms or chocolate buttons for eyes?

Oh but how would I be able to see with chocolate for eyes!! I think you have to go for the chopstick arms, at least you should be able to pick some things up with them.

So there we go, 10 random questions answered by another Avenue team member. We hope you got to know Ella a bit more but if you want to know some more check out our About Us page here and again, Happy Birthday to you Ella!
