Meet Roberta – March 2026’s Amigo of The Month! Cooking with us for the past few years, Roberta first found The Avenue the way many of you do, down a Google rabbit hole searching for cookery classes… and thankfully landed in the right place. Here’s a little peek into their Avenue journey so far:

How did you first find us?
On the internet – I was searching for cookery classes on Google When Google knows, Google knows!

How long have you been cooking with us?
2–3 years (and counting!)

Which classes have you joined so far?
Doughnuts, Macarons, Japanese Katsu Curry Workshop and the Korean Cookery Class

If you had to pick… which Class was your favourite?
Hard to say, they’ve all been good! The one I use most frequently is the Japanese Katsu recipe, but I think Korean might become a new favourite… I actually made it again just last night

What’s your go-to dish now that you learned with us? (The one you secretly feel smug about)
Chicken Katsu Curry Crispy chicken with a delicious curry sauce and perfectly cooked rice – a strong choice!

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten at The Avenue?
Honestly, everything’s been good! We’ll take it!

What’s the most unexpected or obscure thing you’ve ever made in the kitchen?
Some of my kids’ school projects – a model volcano, baking clay for an Aztec temple, even an Anderson air raid shelter! Definitely obscure! 

Which class is next on your wish list?
Maybe Mexican… or the Bao Class Good choice – they are both 2 of our most popular classes for a reason!
