Meet Ella – May 2025’s Amigo of The Month! This foodie has been slicing, rolling, simmering, and sizzling with us for over a year now! From surprise gifts to surprise ingredients (hello, bicarb in noodles?!), here’s what Ella had to say…

How did you hear about The Avenue?
I found you through Google when I wanted to buy my husband a Knife Skills Class. Ah yes, the ol’ “here’s a gift that’s actually for both of us” move 

How long have you been joining classes?
I have been coming to the school now for just over a year. A seasoned regular!

Which classes have you done?
I have taken the Knife Skills Class, Sushi Workshop, Ramen Class and the Moroccan Class and will keep doing more!! I love it! We love it! Keep ticking them off like a foodie bucket list

What was your favourite class at The Avenue?
Ooh my favourite class… that’s a tough one, but I think it might have been the Ramen Class. Brothy, noodly, soul-hugging joy in a bowl – ye, we can get that!

What’s your favourite dish to cook that you learnt with us?
I now love cooking the Moroccan Harissa.

What was your favourite dish to eat at The Avenue?
The Sushi! And Ramen… actually it’s too hard as all were really delicious. Clever non-answer, we’ll allow it!

What is the most obscure thing you have made in the kitchen?
The Noodles on the Ramen Class, as I didn’t know about the bicarbonate of soda in them. We live for those “wait, what?!” moments

What class would you like to do in the future?
I want to do Bread Class with you guys and also I want to bring my friend to Pastel De Nata Workshop. Done some savoury, and now onto the bakes! You won’t be disappointed!

Any final comments?
You guys are really good at what you do. I always learn something when I come to you. It’s one of my favourite things to do. Thanks so much! Stop it, you’re making us blush. We can’t wait to have you back in the kitchen soon, apron on, whisk in hand, and ready for more delicious chaos!
