The Avenue’s Weekly Shenanigans for more funtimes in our kitchen.
We kicked off Monday with the second part of our Chalet Host and Intermediate Cookery Courses. The students have been so great and have been making some delicious food, like the Grilled Mackerel with Miso Noodles and a delicious Banana Bread with Salted Caramel Icing. We also had some more visits from VIP Ski, and Le Ski to meet some of the Chalet Hosts!
Richard celebrated his 24th birthday on Tuesday, and we embarrassed him by posting a very skin-bearing photograph on our social media (its still here if you want to take a look ;0)…sorry Rich! In the evening, the whole family went out for dinner and then hit the Casino, with Sophie bringing home the bacon with a whopping £165 profit – if she isn’t in the office we know where to find her!
Wonderful Zoe, who does regular private cookery classes with us, came in again this week. She made some delicious gingerbread men that were decorated with perfection and we can confirm tasted delicious. There are pictures up of both designs on our Twitter here.
Sophie and Emma went to a PR Masterclass in Somerset House run by Small Business Saturday which was really informative. We can’t wait to use some of their ideas in our own PR at The Avenue and we are excited to see how we can continue growing The Avenue and get more people to join the fun!
We had a hand delivery from Steve and Robert of our new set of ProfBoards for the Cookery School. The best chopping boards ever and we are fully kitted out with them in our kitchens both at work and home! They’re easy to clean and have grips on the bottom to stop the board moving around when you chop – a vast improvement from putting a wet j-cloth under our chopping boards to stop them slipping around! We also stock them in our online shop if you want one for yourself.
We have another fully booked Really Useful, Off to Uni, DofE Gold Residential and Chalet Hosting Course starting on Monday so stay tuned on our Social Media for some daily updates of what they’ve all been cooking! But until then – it’s time for a nice relaxing weekend!
