Friday already? We can’t believe the week we’ve had at The Avenue. As always, we have plenty of weekly shenanigans to tell you all about…so settle down with a cuppa (or a class of vino) and enjoy…

We had a ‘cracking’ end to last week with our unbeatable Sunday Brunch Club. Have you ever woken up on a Sunday morning feeling a little worse for wear, wondering what to do with yourself? Well our Sunday Brunch Club might be the answer. Eggs Benedict, freshly baked Soda Bread and…Bottomless Bloody Mary’s. What hangover?

We also have a really ‘egg-citing’ (Ok. Thats ‘un oeuf’ now.) announcement. Clarence Court (who produce the most delicious eggs we’ve ever tried) will be sponsoring our Sunday Brunch Clubs from now on. This sponsorship kicks off at our Boozy Blogger’s Brunch on Sunday 8th October. This is a slightly different class; we’ve got some amazing Brands lined up to sponsor the Brunch including our friends at Clarence Court, Big Tom, Absolut Vodka, Yeo Valley, Warburton’s, Denhay Bacon and Tea Pigs! We’ve invited some amazing foodie bloggers and press to enjoy the class and find out more about The Avenue – aren’t we great? Stay tuned for updates and check out our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feed on the day to get a peak of what’s going on!

Indulge yourself this weekend with delicious Eggs Benedict, freshly baked Soda Bread and bottomless Bloody Mary’s (yup…bottomless!) Only £29.95 for a limited time only! #brunch #eggsbenedict Thanks @nikivaghela for the photo!

On Sunday we also had our Ready Steady Bake class. The students baked to their hearts content and whipped up a selection of cakes and goodies, some of which they took home and some that didn’t make it out of the kitchen. The Avenue’s Carrot Cake, Cupcakes and Shortbread were all on the menu and we had some wonderful decoration ideas! Of course no baking class is complete without a healthy portion of The Avenue’ famous Brownies. Heaven.

Monday kicked off with week two of our Basic to Brilliant and Chalet Host Cookery Courses and our Intermediate Cookery Course. The students have made some fab food this week (even with a few mishaps) and they’re all excited to use their new cooking skills at home, University and on their Ski seasons!

Monday also brought more kiddies for our After-School Classes. They whipped up a Moroccan Tomato soup spiced with coriander, cumin and chili. An adventurous choice for children but a popular one nonetheless! These classes are running right up until the end of term due to popular demand after our Young Holiday Classes!

Our Vegan Cookery Class returned on Tuesday evening with a mouthwatering new menu. The students started with Summer Rolls with a Spicy Soy Dip and moved onto Crispy Aubergene with Katsu Curry and Rice for the main event. As if that wasn’t enough to swear you off animal produce for life, it was all topped off with our undercover Vegan Cheesecake with a Berry Coulis – you literally wouldn’t know the difference.

On Thursday evening we welcomed Nudge to The Avenue for a corporate event. They were greeted with wine, Fizz and focaccia before whipping up irresistible Butternut Squash and Thyme Ravioli with Rocket and a Beurre Noisette. Tempted by an office party at The Avenue? We’ve got a great selection of (dare we say it?) Corporate Christmas Events to tickle your taste buds and get you in the festive spirit. Get in touch with Sophie for more details!

We were spoilt rotten on Friday when we welcome Rory from Belazu into the kitchens to try some of their amazing products. We always use Belazu Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar to dress salads and adding finishing touches to things like Risotto. We might be biased, but we think it’s the most lip-smacking Balsamic we’ve ever tried.

Tonight we’ve got another Peruvian Class lined up. After the demo by Richard the Chef, the Students will be making Tune Ceviche, Peruvian Chicken with a Quinoa Stir Fry and rounding the meal off with Arroz Con Leche. What a delicious way to spend your Friday night!

On Sunday we have another Kids Weekend Cookery Class. Cake baking with the kids: a fun weekend activity. Right? What about when they get their hands on the left over icing and the sugar rush hits? Leave the sugar rush to us, and you enjoy the good bits…like the peace and quiet and the cake they bring home after the class. You can still buy our kids classes as packages for the term. A great thing to do after school or at the weekends.

Stay tuned for more Weekly Shenanigans from The Avenue. Enjoy your weekend and happy cooking!
