After another great big busy week at The Avenue, let’s recap on everything that’s gone on!

Our friends from Care UK hosted a very chocolatey event from our kitchens on Tuesday, and there was some amazing chocolate work to be seen! We can’t wait to see these guys again, and not just because of the tasty chocolate treats they make!

That evening, we had our After School Class. We had to say goodbye to the lovely George, who has been coming to this class every week for a year! He’s off to secondary school now, but will take a hell of a lot of cookery skills with him from his time with us! We will miss you George!

Wednesday morning brought with it our Ladies Who Lunch Class. The lovely ladies cooked up a storm in our kitchen, as Diana taught them how to make the perfect fillet steak alongside roasted vegetables and a truffle bearnaise, followed by apricot frangipane with a vanilla ice cream for dessert!

On Wednesday, we hosted our fifteenth Dinner Party Dining Class. The menu for this was pretty special, and saw students make Roasted Beef Tomatoes on a Garlic Sour Dough to start, followed by Spiced Cod with an Aubergine Puree and a Green Olive Dressing and a Tiramisu Trifle with Toasted Almonds for dessert! Lots of new skills learnt and happy full bellies at the end of the night!

On Thursday and Friday, we invited the lovely Seren in for a private Vegan Class. Richard taught her 1-1 for two mornings on how to cook a range of great vegan recipes, including an amazing vegan cheesecake recipe. Watch this space for a full recipe on this soon!

On Thursday night we put on our first ever Healthy Eating Class. We invited the amazing women’s health and fitness coach Baz Moffat along to this class! It’s great to collaborate with local businesses who do great things for the local community, and the results were pretty delicious!

And we aren’t slowing down for the weekend! On Sunday, we are putting on our Kids Weekend Cookery Class. We can’t wait to make a delicious leek and bacon risotto, it’s an amazing recipe.

Next week promises to be as busy, with out Macaron Class on Wednesday, Yoga Cookery Class with the lovely yogi Claire on Thursday and loads of classes for Mother’s Day too!
