Ingredients
2 cooking apples
1/2 lemon, zest and juice
1 tbs water
Crumble
50g butter
100g flour (or 50g flour and 50g oats and mixed nuts)
50g sugar

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 180C.

Peel, core and roughly chop the apples.

In a covered saucepan on a medium heat, cook the apples with the lemon zest, juice and water, until soft.

Spoon the softened apples into an ovenproof dish and set aside.

For the crumble; in a bowl, rub together the butter, sugar and flour/oats to form a breadcrumb like texture and sprinkle over the top of the apples.

Cook in the pre-heated oven for 40 minutes until golden brown.

Serve with custard or ice cream and enjoy! 😝
