😄 HEY AMIGO’S!!!!! We’ve missed you!!!! 😄
We’re aware we sound a little over-excited but it’s nice to be back, isn’t it?! Well, perhaps not for everyone… but if you’re feeling the January Blues then we’ve got the perfect little recipe for ya! We’ll also be telling you exactly why! 😀
Before we get into that, how is everyone? 😊 We hope you had a lovely Christmas and walked into 2018 with a bang (from a cork that is)! 😎 We’ve had another busy couple of weeks (shock) but this time it’s been away from our hometown in Wandsworth. Yup, The Avenue crew have been tearing up the town, making festive memories all over the shop, but we’ll tell you all about that in this week’s shenanigans. It’s gunna be a big one! Anyway…
I’m not sure about you guys but we are feeling extra slow today. It’s that time of year where the Christmas pounds begin to show and we reluctantly realise we might be in need of a little detox. Before we move on, we’d just like to point out we take the word ‘detox‘ very lightly. We believe in balance! I know you guys might be feeling a little guilty after last months over-indulgence, but don’t beat ya self up over it! We’ve got the perfect little recipe to help get those digestive juices flowing and help you feel a little less heavy…
Blueberry, Strawberry and Mango Smoothie 🍓
4 tsp ginger finely chopped
1 lime –juice of
1 pot of coconut yoghurt (vegan option too!)
Simple: blitz all ingredients together and enjoy!
So why is this juice so extra special huh? I’m glad you asked…
The main ingredients in this wonderful little concoction have extreme health benefits. We wouldn’t give you any old recipe now, would we?
Coconuts are highly nutritious and rich in fibre, vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous. We know that long list is a little confusing, but all of these great minerals help reduce heart disease and tooth decay! Which I’m sure we are all in dire need of after Christmas…
Next, we have these powerful little berries! They’re a fantastic source of vitamin K, essential to building strong bones, preventing heart disease, and crucial part of other bodily processes! They are believed to be the highest fruit and veg per weight in antioxidants. They contain vitamin C, fibre, manganese and other antioxidants (notably anthocyanins) – some nutritionists even believe that if you make only one change to your diet, it should be to add blueberries. Woah.
Strawberries are packed with antioxidants just like blueberries however they have many other nutrients, vitamins and minerals that contribute to overall health! These include folate, potassium, manganese, dietary fibre, and magnesium – all known to help boost short-term memory, fancy that. So combine these bad boys with blueberries and you’ll be the next Isaac Newton…
Juicy as ever, Mango’s pack a punch! These bad boys have plenty of vitamins and nutrients that help the body feel more full! The fibrous fruit boosts the digestive function of the body by burning additional calories, helping in weight loss. Perfect for those post-Christmas pounds, although you must remember balance people!
