Description
Our Basic Cooking Days are perfect for those who want to learn some basic culinary skills. With the help of our experienced, friendly and knowledgeable chefs by the end of these days, you will have prepared a top-notch two-course lunch and multiple other dishes. You’ll leave The Avenue doors with a newfound confidence in cooking.
Each day is individual and are structured to make up our week-long Really Useful Course but on some quieter weeks, we offer those who can’t join the full week the option to join for individual days. The week is structured for participants to progress from Monday through to Friday, so we ask you to join the Monday and work your way through the week to avoid being left behind. Each day covers new skills and new dishes, so if you really love the first day, why not join the rest of the week?!
If you can’t join at the beginning of the week but feel confident with cooking at home but would just like some professional training then you are welcome to join later in the week.
Each morning will kick off with a demonstration, showing you how to prepare the dishes you will be whipping up throughout the day. Our chefs will go through essential skills, teaching you about each dish and how to cook it independently and, wait for it, without a cookbook! It may sound daunting but never fear, our chefs will be there the whole time to offer guidance and support where needed so you can leave the class confident in recreating the dishes at home.
Whether a day or the full week, you will leave feeling surprised at how much you have learnt!

Catered for Allergies: Vegetarian, LF and GF dietary requirements can be catered for on request, but time restraints mean meal alternatives will not be covered in the demonstrations
