Meet Benjamin – June 2026’s Amigo of The Month! He’s one of our brilliant young chefs who’s been joining our Young Holiday Classes for a couple of years now and he’s cooked up some seriously delicious dishes along the way including Roast Duck and Sushi. We caught up with him to chat his favourite memories in the kitchen!

How did you first find us? 
Browsing the internet. Thanks you Google! 

How long have you been cooking with us?
For a couple of years. An official Avenue regular!

Which classes have you joined so far?
I’ve done a few of the Young Holiday Classes

If you had to pick… which Young Holiday Class was your favourite?
I like all the Young Holiday Classes because they’re all really fun and I get to make lots of different things!

What’s your favourite dish to cook that you learnt with us?
The Roast Duck because it was really flavourful and I learnt how to make it at home myself. High level cooking – good work!

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten at The Avenue?
The cakes (Victoria Sponge) we make in the mornings of the Young Holiday Classes because I got to make them and then eat them afterwards! Makes sense

What’s the most unexpected or obscure thing you’ve ever made in the kitchen?
Green Rice Krispie cakes and Portal Cookies. Ok that sounds cool!

Which Young Holiday Class menu is next on your wish list?
Another Sushi class because I love Sushi and it’s delicious and fun to make. Can’t argue with that!
